    I’ve learned so many things in chapter six on the topic principles of interpretation from II Timothy 2:25; I’ve learned how rightly dividing the word as used in the above scripture means to understand what is being said to whom and also to interpret and apply the meaning correctly.

    I’ve learnt some rules for properly interpreting the bible some of which includes;
    -The rule of divine authority which means we accept the Bible as the final authority (II Timothy 3:16).
    – The rule of literal interpretation which means to believe it means exactly what it says.
    – The rule of contextual consideration which says every verse of the bible should be studied in it’s context ( that is in relation to the verses which procede and follow it, as well as in relation to the rest of the Bible) which can be effective if we ask the Bible some questions
    -The rule of first mention which states that;” The first time a word, phrase, object, or incident is mentioned in the Bible, it gives the key to its meaning anywhere else it occurs”.
    -The rule of repetition which explains how there are no unessential parts of the Bible but each word is inspired and necessary.
    – The rule of cumulative revelation which is stated in II Peter 1:20-21, it’s says the full truth of God’s word on any subject matter must not be gathered from an isolated passage.
