Chapter 12: The extension training center. Acts.19.9 – But when some were hardened and did not believe, but spoke evil of the Way before the multitude, he departed from them and withdrew the disciples, reasoning daily in the school of Tyrannus.
Acts.19.10 – And this continued for two years, so that all who dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.
This passage record the ministry of Paul in the city of Ephesus. At Ephesus, he used a special method of spiritual multiplication.
When Paul first arrived in Ephesus, he sought out disciples who lived there. These men and women who had accepted the Gospel and become followers of Jesus.
These new believers needed further training to minister effectively in the city. Paul’s concern was to teach these disciples more about the kingdom of God. Paul taught them through experience.
When opposition to the Gospel arose from traditional leaders, Paul established a training center disciples at Ephesus.
What am learning from this lesson is that, discipleship and training offered to us in our churches are very important because it will help us to be rooted in the word and stronger in our faith. When opposition comes you will be able to withstand.
