Chapter 10: Power principle four: The anointing of power.
1John.2.27 – But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you all things, and what he teaches is true–it is not a lie. So continue in what he has taught you, and continue to live in Christ.
To anoint is apply oil to a person or thing. It was a practice instituted in the old testament times. The power in Spiritual anointing is not in the oil itself. The power deos not rest in the person doing the anointing or the abilities of the receipient. The power of anointing flows from the source, God the Father. Jesus said the spirit of the Lord is upon me for he hath anointed me.
Paul said now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God. God was the source of anointing and He is still the source of anointing.
The anointing of the spirit of God is very important in the life of a believer.
