Chapter 12: power principle six: power in the name of Jesus.
Text:Phil.2.9 – Because of this, God raised him up to the heights of heaven and gave him a name that is above every other name,
Phil.2.10 – so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
Phil.2.11 – and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
The name Jesus was given to the son of God when He came to earth in human form. It was given in obedience to the comand of an angel to Joseph. The name Jesus means savior. Jesus left his disciples with the great mission of reaching the world with the Gospel message. He also left them with a special power to enable them to fulfill the mission. He gave them the authority to use his own name: Matt.28.18 – Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given complete authority in heaven and on earth.
Matt.28.19 – Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Matt.28.20 – Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
The greatest power in the name of Jesus is the power of salvation from sin. It’s only through his name that salvation comes.
