GENERAL WORK OF PASTORING BELIEVERS BAPTISM
Believer’s baptism is the practice of baptizing those who are able to make a conscious profession of faith.
Believer’s baptism done by the mode of immersion. This is a very special moment on the journey of faith. It is a moment when God’s presence and blessing meets us, and when we make our personal commitment of faith in Jesus as Lord.
It signifies the end of our old life and of being born again to new life in Christ. Normally taking place by full immersion in water, it speaks of repentance and cleansing, of being united with Christ in his death and resurrection, and of witnessing to the call of God upon our lives.
Baptism is also about receiving God’s Spirit for service in the church and in the world.
Pastors have great responsibilities in making sure to carryout proper teachings concerning baptism before baptizing his Christians.
The pastor should ensure the candidate understands the meaning and significance of baptism, including its connection to faith in Christ and obedience to God’s command.
The pastor should guide the candidate through a period of discipleship, helping them grow in their faith and understanding of the Christian life.
The pastor should help the candidate make a public profession of faith, demonstrating their commitment to following Christ.
When Conducting the Ceremony:
The pastor leads the baptismal service, which may include prayer, scripture readings, and hymns.
The pastor will typically perform the baptism by immersion, following the biblical pattern.Speaking the Words:
The pastor will pronounce the words of baptism, declaring the candidate’s baptism into the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

straight on points
On point sis. Conducting the right ritual during baptism is of prime importance because of its significance. Some new converts who had received “baptism” by sprinkling usually refuse to go in for baptism by immersion. reason being ” it is a taboo to be baptized twice. So teaching to enlighten new converts on the importance of baptism by immersion is primordial.
