Lesson 2: The Kingdom of God
In a broad sense, God’s rule is complete and unchanging but in a narrow sense, God’s rule is developing through our history God’s reign and kingdoms are complete and unchanging and he manifests his unwavering  sovereignty with the passage of time. He will fill the earth with his visible glory and receive endless praise for who is and what he does. Jesus summarized old testament outlook on Gods developing kingdom in the Lord’s prayer. He calls us to pray for God’s visible glory to fill the earth. The earth is God’s kingdom. God began his  construction and it was without form . It progressed step by step till he rested on the 7th day. God created the  garden of Eden as a center piece of operation and planted Adam and Eve there for fellowship with him. Unfortunately when they disobeyed him he cursed procreation with pain and also cursed the ground. But his merciful heart initiated a redemption process which started with the Israelites who also failed him. Then Jesus Christ was mandated to redeem mankind . Jesus overcame failures of the past and succeeded in spreading the kingdom of God to the ends of the earth.He offered himself as a sacrifice on the cross and is seated forever on David’s throne All believers are joined  to Christ so the church now serves as the people  of God’s kingdom. Jesus is the Messiah  but he is going to bring the kingdom of God to earth over long period of time throughout the proclamation of the gospel through our the world. Christ will return and fulfil God’s plan to turn the whole world into his kingdom. I will place our faith in what Jesus has done and will do in future
