    The primeval History
    Lesson 1. A perfect world

When God created the world, he laid a path for his creation to follow to a glorious destiny ,unfortunately they have derailed from this path.
Focusing our study on the book of Genesis 1-11, we see that the scripture was divinely inspired by God this accrediting it’s reliability seeing that Moses actually designed his writings selectively as attested by the archaeological evidences, the background study, which reveals his interaction with other primeval traditions .
As we look at Moses’ writing  in Gen 1:1-2 we see that there was a dark chaotic world  on which the spirit of God hovered .
But in Genesis 2: 2-3, God had entered into a state of sabbath rest where the tension between the chaos and the spirit of God had been resolved by ordering the world according to a wondrous six days plan (Gen 1:3-31) creating an ideal world.
Moses’ writings were intended to validate Israel’s exodus and conquest by showing how they were in accordance with the order God had established in the early history of the world.
There’s a connectivity between the creation story and the exodus in that, Moses and the Israelites used the term Shabbat to refer to Sabbath observances which they would enjoy according to the law of Moses. ( Exodus 20).The close connection between the Sabbath and the full national worship of God in the promise Land explains why Moses ended his accounts of creation with God entering his Sabbath rest. As we go through the study we discovered that, Moses ordered as dictated by God and a lot of chaos came on Egypt just as God , in the beginning of times and brought light and peace to the world.
The new Testament sees Genesis 1:1-2:3 as a prototype of great redemption- the Salvation that comes in Christ. It sees the first coming of Christ  as God’s re-creation ,his reshaping of the cosmos.
More light is thrown on the Genesis account revealing continuation when the New Testament says  that anyone who believes in Christ will experience a new creation. 2 Corinthians 5:17. As we become part of God’s new creation, we begin to enjoy the wonder of God’s ideal order for the world.
We also note that there’s consummation when the writer of Hebrews saw God’s sabbath day as an ideal prototype of the ultimate redemption we will experience when Christ returns just as Moses used the Sabbath day in Genesis 2 to spur Israel towards Canaan, the land of rest
In conclusion the new testament applies the creation account to Christ and our lives. Just as the Israelites who first heard the gospel were discouraged we took easily get discouraged as we follow Christ in this sinful world but just like Moses encouraged them to belief because they were on the way to an ideal world, we are encouraged as we walk towards ab ideal world, eternity.
