The word prophecy means to speak forth – a message of inspiration from God, prediction of future events in God’s Eternal plan and interpret the acts of God for man.
The Bible is different from other sacred books because it has a record of prophecies that have been fulfilled rebvezlly it’s divine origin.
Every prophet that God called had as mission to:
– explain God’s acts to man, to voice God’s truth and to predict the future events in God’s plan for man.
Prophecies come to authencify God’s message, to confirm God’s messengers and to instruct believers
We therefore study prophecies because they are inspired by God, to bring understanding of past, present and future events in God’s plan, to understand the future and to release God’s blessings pronounced upon those who study Bible prophecy.
It’s important to note that Bible prophecies are the meat of the word so you need to do an effective study to understand it.
Understanding prophecy is God’s desire for mankind if not the message will be misunderstood.
To understand prophecy the following keys are available,:
– identify the basic theme of prophecy which is Jesus Christ
– realize that the Bible interprets itself.
– also understand that theres a rule for double reference which indicates that the prophecy of immediate fulfillment is made as a means of teaching a deeper truth or for telling an event in future.
,- know that the prophets described future events as if they were continuous and in immediate order both in the old and new testament.
There are two methods of prophecy- spoken and acted words whose origin is God himself.
Nevertheless we have false prophets who imitate true Bible words of prophecy and give false predictions.
