Chapter 8:Extension Growth
Extension growth occurs when a church starts another church in a similar culture if the mother church is spiritually matured the new church will grow into similar maturity.
Multiplication takes place by division and it might be caused by circumstances that agod himself allows.The new testament church extended to plant churches in similar cultures. It bridged the cultural gap to start another , when several churches group o plant a church, a large church divides to start another, an individual believer is directed to a certain area to start a church.
Some types of extensions are:- churches ministering to specific community, churches ministering to specific ethnic groups and churches with specific purposes.. priorities in starting an extension is unreached people, the responsive, cities first rural area after. A planter should reach a biblical based message, a Christ centered message, a need centered message .
To plant a church ask God’s direction as to where he wants you to grow. Your prayers should focus on where , when and location. To properly mature, each new extension must:
-Understand it’s purposes and objectives
– understand biblical principles of organization
– understand biblical qualification, be taught foundations of faith, settle practical questions.
