Good morning fellow Ministers. From chapter 1 up to chapter 9, I have learned a lot about the Bible, It Author and the various things I have to do in other to better study and understand the Bible. Chapter 10 now is taking me deeper into the heart of the matter which is the “DEVOTIONAL BIBLE STUDY METHOD “. And before I go ahead I will love to answer the question what is the meaning of the word DEVOTIONAL?
Devotional comes from the word “devotion” which means “dedication , consecration, worship, and sincere attachment to a cause or person”.
This Bible study method goes beyond just being a hearers to being both a hearers and a doers of the Word. And it’s with this method the devil raises his greatest opposition because when we read the Bible in this way, it in part our life.
Let’s look at some steps provided for us to consider when doing this study.
1- RECORD PASSAGES INFORMATION
2-IDENTIFY THE SUBJECT
3- IDENTIFY THE KEY VERSE
4- SUMMERIZED
5- MEDITATES AND
6- MAKE APPLICATION.
And after we have done this, in the cause of preparing for a devotional, the following questions will help us apply God’s Word to our life.
* Is there an Example to follow:
* Is there an error to avoid:
* Is there a duty to perform
* is there a promise to claim
* Is there a relationship to develop
* Is there a change to make
And lastly
* Is there a prayer to pray..
