Greeting beloved brothers and sisters in the Lord. It’s with Joy that I will really love to Share with you what I have been able to learn from this Chapter.
Chapter 6 title: HOW GOD SPEAK TO MEN. Help us to understand ways through which we can hear and know God’s Voice more clearly.
We have three voice that speaks to us and among this Voice is the Voice of God. We have
1- Our Voice
2- the devil voice
3- God’s Voice
And if we are not careful, we can miss out on Who’s really speaking to us. So chapter 6 seek help us identifier God’s Voice from these Voices.
The bible is a history of methods by which God communicated to man and response of mankind to the voice of God.
God speaks to man through his written word. God does not need to speak to you concerning things already revealed in the scriptures and when God uses other methods to communicate, they will never contradict with His written word.
Prayers. Prayer and fasting resulted God speaking to Paul and Barnabas. Prayer is to include to the request to fulfilment of God’s will on earth.
Circumstances. God communicates His plan through circumstances. One old testament perfect example is the life of Joseph recorded in Genesis 37-50.
God also speak through Angels, Miracles , Dreams , visions, audible voice, the inner voice of the holy spirit.
Gift of the spirit are also used by God to speak to man. Spiritual gifts are abilities given by the Holy spirit. Several of this gifts enable you to receive communication from God .
One thing I have learned from this lesson is that God is not limited. God does not always speak in the same way. We try to limit God to set a pattern. Because God has spoken in a certain way one time , we believe He will always direct in the same way. But as we have learned in this chapter God has several ways of communicating with man. God is not limited by a set pattern.
Moses was leading the nation of Israel across the dessert to the land God promised them , providing water for two million people was a major challenge. On one occasion, God told Moses to strike a rock with his rod. When he did, water poured out of the rock. In another occasion the Israelites were thirsty and God wanted Moses to speak to the rock . Instead Moses struck the rock as had done previously. This was displeasing to God and Moses was punished. Waiting on the guidance of God when facing a familiar situation is very very important. May God grant us the grace of hear Him will
We have our voice, the devil’s voice and God’s voice. If we are not careful we will missed out on who is talking.
And one amazing thing I have learned from this lesson is that: God is not limited, God doesn’t speak in the same way . He speaks using different instrument and giving different instructions. Moses is the best example for us as you have rightly said sir ……
Thank you so very much ….
All we need to do is obey God when he speaks, the way he wants us to do. He’s just and faithful. Tx for the writeup
